The write-up notes: The Kaplan roll notes that a total of 162 “Relief of Mafeking” bars were issued to Imperial troops. Men from “M” Battery, Rl. Horse Artillery, qualified for 57 of them.

64159 Gnr. F. Eager, M Battery Royal Horse Artillery.
Francis Newton Eagar (sic) enlisted at Horfield 14 October 1887 aged 20 years 3 months. Born Killorglin, Co. Kerry. Occupation clerk. Fractured right fibula on service 23 November 1887. Transferred to Army Reserve 9 November 1895. Re-engaged in Section D 19 September 1899 and recalled to army service 1 January 1900. Transferred to Army Reserve 24 April 1902. Discharged 13 October 1903. Character very good. 68 Relief of Mafeking clasps to the battery.

In case this is of interest, please see attached a photo of the Officers & Sergeants of M Battery taken in Feb 1900, prior to embarking for South Africa.
My Great Grandfather Major HK Jackson is the one seated in the middle, sadly I am not sure who the others are
