Is there anyone here having problems getting their lots back to the UK via DHL / Megafreight?

DHL are asking for an EORI number and that I need to register with HMRC if I don't have one.
This is something I have never been asked to do in the past, and the HMRC website states "You do not need an EORI number if you're moving goods for personal use only".

So, has DHL got this wrong, or do I still have to register?

I'm in Cape Town and happy to bring medals etc back when I come to the UK soon.
PM or email me if stuck.

Thanks for the offer Rob, but my lots are already in the hands of DHL.

Having now spoken to DHL Customs Department it seems they mistakenly believed I was a business. As private collectors we do not need EORI numbers.
I'm glad to say they are aware that VAT should be charged at the lower rate of 5%, so no need to go through the rigmarole of reclaiming 15% from HMRC .
