Dear all

Your collective assistance is required please. This morning I purchased this group from Warwick & Warwick:

The problem is that I can not find him on the S.A.L.H. roll on Ancestry. I downloaded the WO/100 rolls from TNA and came to the conclusion (because the copies are so poor) that, if he is on their roll at all, he will be on page 87 (see below). He appears on both the POWLH and Border Scouts rolls with a cross reference to no. 140 in the S.A.L.H.

Does anyone have either a better roll or another way to determine that he was with them? I don't have his attestation papers.

Regards

Rory

Hi Rory,

Yes, he is on that page; it's hard to make out but you can make out the regimental number for POWLH and the number 140 for his SALH number.

I'll see if I can enhance it better

I convinced he's on the roll; you can make out both his POWLH number, 26907, and his Border Scouts number, 856.

It's all good.

Thanks very much Sturgy - I breathe a sigh of relief. I only bought the pair because of the unusual clasp combination to a POWLH man. That, coupled with the Border Scouts, which I am taken with, is an alluring combination.
