Definitely agree with you there Rob, one for everyone's ABW library.
Very eloquently written with 'Jack the Sniper's' own experiences of the battlefield.
A pity he died, if memory serves me correctly, before publication. I think his brother published his memoirs posthumously?
I must have another read of the book!

QSA (5) Tugela Heights, Orange Free State, Relief of Ladysmith, Transvaal, Laing’s Nek (3293 Pte. M. Daley. W. York: Regt.);
KSA (2) (3293 Pte. M. Daly [sic]. W. York: Regt.);
Army LS&GC VR small letter reverse (3293 Pte. M. Daly [sic]. W. Yorks: R.) engraved naming

M. Daly attested for the West Yorkshire Regiment and was slightly wounded at Uitspanfontein on 5 February 1902.
