Morning all
I was wondering (hoping) if anyone has a copy of the despatches made by Major Pitcairn Campbell after and in respect of the battle
of Talana in which he gave a list of men he had recommended in respect of gallant conduct at the battle.
If so I would be very grateful indeed for a copy if possible but if not any details/information on it.
I am more than happy to reimburse any costs whatsoever.

Update - I emailed Pam McFadden who kindly passed on my query to a friend.
Sadly he was unable to shed any light on the despatch I am searching for so the hunt goes on.
No reply as yet from the Museum.

Have received the following reply from the Greenjackets Museum :

I have searched our records and I have found a mention of the report made by Major Pitcairn Campbell following the action at Talana but not the actual despatch that refer.

With regards to the location of the despatch you could try The National Archives or the National Army Museum.

Which takes me a little further but still the elusive despatch remains to be discovered.
