Wombwell and District Cage Bird Association.

The members held their second annual exhibition in the Wombwell Congregational Schoolroom, on Friday and Saturday, Nov. 14 and 15. Councillor Swallow and Councillor S.W.S. Taylor performed the opening ceremony on Friday. Councillor Swallow expressed his surprise with the exhibition and congratulated the society on their undertaking. On Saturday, the Rector of Darfield (Rev A.E. Sorby) and Councillor A.E. Allott, opened the exhibition. Before the proceedings commenced a presentation was made to Corporal G.A. BROADBENT, who has recently returned from South Africa as a volunteer, by Councillor Allott, on behalf of the society. The present consisted of a gold medal, suitably inscribed.
