On Saturday evening there was a large gathering at the Ship Inn, Blackhall Mill, on the occasion of a presentation to three men who have recently returned from the front, viz.: – Trooper Henderson BROWN, I.Y., Private Wm. OSBORNE, Grenadier Guards, and Gunner H. COVERDALE, 75th [sic] Battery, R.F.A.  Mt R. Fenwick presided, and made the presentations, handing to each of the men a gold albert, with gold medal attached, bearing a suitable inscription, which set forth that the gifts were presented by the people of Hamsterley and district.
