The article did continue but was less relevant so I will leave the remainder to be enjoyed by the JO'D fan club!

Hi

I also know nothing about the unit, except that, taking account returned medals and medals issued off rolls of other units, there are only approximately 30 QSA's named to the EBS.

Lt Bredin earned his bars serving with Driscoll's Scouts

The district of Elliot is some way from the border with the OFS so like the neighbouring Wodehouse Yeomanry , they probably patrolled the district's borders. Their entitlement to the CC clasps is crossed through on the roll signifying that they did not leave Cape Colony.

Like Lt Bredin's QSA, several men also served in Driscoll's Scouts and there were also medals issued from the nearby Indwe as well as Cala Town Guards and Dordrecht DVG.

The medal roll in WO100/281 states that they were 'called out for active military duty against the enemy and
actually engaged with the enemy’.
