I believe my 2nd great-uncle, J Milne may have been a war correspondent with Reuters during the Anglo-Boer War. He was originally from Aberdeen.
He is on a list or Reuters' war correspondents in the article "THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN BRITISH WAR CORRESPONDENTS IN THE FIELD AND BRITISH MILITARY INTELLIGENCE DURING THE ANGLO-BOER WAR" by Donal McCracken.

J Milne appears in the list of Reuters correspondents and is shown as being captured. He received the Queen's South Africa medal on 16 February 1903.

Any hints about where to find information about him would be welcome. I am contacting the Thomason Reuters archivist.

Hello and welcome. Have you tried Aberdeen's Local Studies? Maybe they have something on him.

Thank you. I have tried local Aberdeen searches but need to look at the newspaper archives.

I made a very brief search through the Aberdeen Journal for the period of the war, but no luck. More intensive searches and various combinations of search words might work.

I found a book "A window on Fleet Street" by James Milne, published 1931, which might be by him:

That James Milne lived from 1865 to 1951, and several books published.

The book "News From 'Somewhere'" was first published before 1916, and sounds like it could concern his time with Reuters. Can't find a description of the contents anywhere.
