Hello Cliff,
I am researching S.F.Cherritt for my father in law George Brown.
S.F. Cherritt was George's great uncle.
He never knew why Stephen left his wife and child, or where he went. We now know it was South Africa but why he stayed we have no idea.
Any information you have would be great.
Many thanks
Best Wishes
Mark.

Hiya Mark
Unfortunately i do not know what happened to you father in laws Great Uncle but needed to have some idea of your thread for what i do have. I have tried to enclose a picture but not sure if it has worked. So... what i have is a medal from Natal.. i believe it is belonged to/won by your father in laws Great Uncle as it has all his details on the medal
ORDERLY S.F. CHERRITT IMP HOSP CORPS
I got it many years ago as a young lad who collected memoribilia and it was not until yesterday when i decided to do some research and came across your thread on this site. As i say i'm sorry i do not have any info but would be more than happy to let your father in law have the medal. It would be fantastic to see it back in the family after all these years. I'm not sure if we're allowed to exchange details over this site so arrangements can be made. Please let me know..

Kind regards Cliff

Hello Cliff,
Thank you so much for the information. Unfortunately the picture did not come through.
Thank you for offering to pass the medal on but I should tell you that my father in law ,George, died in February. My wife Diana, and I are carrying on the family tree history research, which he had started around 1970. If you feel it is appropriate and would like to pass it onto the family I assure you it would be greatly appreciated. If on the other hand with the passing of George you feel you would like to keep it we fully understand. We are so pleased it has been saved and not lost for ever.
If you wish to contact me our email address which is [email protected]
Many thanks,
Very Best Wishes
Mark.
