Are there any graves - British or Boer in the vicinity?

None that have been found to date.

I want to search around the hospital site as that premises was owned by boer sympathisers and taken over by the British to treat the wounded.

I would also join this ABW group on Facebook and post your questions there, it is full of extremely knowledgeable folk.

At that stage of the war, I would expect that the Boers would have been using a lot of captured rifles and ammunition. Thus, finding expended rounds with rimmed cases (.303") could have been used by either side. Earlier, the Boers used 7mm Mausers; which had rimless cases (extractor groove instead of a projecting rim). Easy to recognise the difference.
