Boer War 1899 - 1902

I am wondering if anyone knows why or ?? the war is called by so many different names, specifically the "Anglo Boer" term? I know The Great War and World War I depict the same conflict, but I am unclear as to the different terms depicting the Boer War and am trying to sort that out for a Uni project. Thanks for your help :)
