The Dekoratie voor Trouwe Dienst Anglo-Boeroorlog 1899-1902 (DTD) was the
Boer officer's decoration for devoted and meritorious service during the Boer
War. The regulations the the award of the DTD were published in the
Government Gazette of the Union of South Africa number 2307 on 21 December 1920.
The application form for people to be awarded the DTD was called Form A.
The description said the decoration should be 'silver, circular, with the
coat-of-arms of the South African Republic and the inscription 'Voor Trouwe
Dienst 1899-1902' on one side, and the coat-of-arms of the Orange Free State and
the inscription 'Voor Trouwe Dienst 1899-1902' on the other side, with the name
and rank of recipient engraved on the edge'.
The colours of the ribbon are red, green, blue, orange and white. The
ribbon uses the Boer Republics' national flag colours.
662 DTDs were issued.
An unusual group awarded to Lieutenant Colonel P L de Jager. The group
consists of DTD (Kapt & Adj), DSO GV awarded 22 August 1918, ABO (Kapt & Adj),
1914-15 Star (Lt Kol, Piet Retief Kommando), BWM, VM (Lt Kol), Russian Order of
