Joseph Marnell 1 year 1 month ago #3191

Can you help me find out when and where my paternal grandfather died?
He served in the Boer War.
Soldier No. 34481, Unit: 74 Company (Dublin) 8 Battalion Imperial Yeomanry.
Born: 1875 in Antrim, Lisburn, Ireland.

Thanks, Alice

Hi Alice
Your Grandfather's death is recorded as Lisburn, Antrim 1919 aged 44
The medal rolls state he was entitled to the folowing clasps to his QSA
Cape Colony,Orange Free State,Transvaal, South Africa 1901 & 1902
It also states " Returned with unit on S.S. Norham Castle"
Hope this helps
