Hi

I am looking for any information on John Winter (actual name Solomon John)
born 1878 Kempsford, Gloucestershire.

I believe on FMP there maybe some records for him.

His Canadian Records for his WW1 service specify that he had previous service with the Duke of Cornwall Light Infantry.

I have not been able to find him on the British 1901 Census, so it fits that he may have been in South Africa

Any information really appreciated.

Thank you in advance

Colin

Winter served in South Africa as part of the garrison after the Anglo Boer War to back up and if need be enforce the new administration, he had served in the Militia before joining the Army in 1896.
