Hello Adrian,
You have gone to quite a lot trouble typing that out and I agree with Mark and think it should be in a Jameson Raid thread and I also think the list should be added to the Jameson Raid pages already on this site!
I have long been interested in the raid and a great many of these men lived in Great Britain and went home after their release, but they are a pain to research.
The last one I bought was just a pair, BSA CO and QSA, first stop, BSA medal medal roll to get his address, check census etc, then as he served in the Cape Police, QSA medal roll here in the UK, then Cape Police papers via Audrey Portman, then "Harlech Castle" passenger list, for final proof, this was the ship that brought home the rank and file after their release.
Kind regards Frank

Guys,

This might be slightly off topic but whilst busy with my on going research into all things Cape Police, I managed to get my hands on this list of Jameson Raiders.
Last Edit: 11 months 1 day ago by Frank Kelley. Reason: grammar

Hi Adrian,
He was 1860 Alfred Ernest Bevan, Cape Police Dristrict 1, he is on your Charter prisoner list.
You could start a new thread on these men!

Hello Frank,

I remember the name and the request that "past over my desk".

If memory serves, he attested into the CP in 1898, nice pair of medals.
