Some very familiar names amongst this list.

The group to Borgnis NP has been around for a while now, Brett, Brian and myself looked at this group of medals at the medal show in Durban earlier in the year. They were for sale then and even though Michael Kaplan was made a couple of excellent offers he would not let them go. Prior to that they had also spent some time on auction sites etc.Strange that a good confirmed group such as this cannot seem to find a permanent home!!

Quite a few of mine are selling. They didn't sell last time, maybe I had too high reserves but you never know what is happening with an auction.

So bid early and hard people!

If White's Natal Police group sells for only R1400, the future bodes ill for my widow-to-be.

Further to Adrian's comments on the Borgnis group ......

Borgnis was the son-in-law of Colonel Bru De Wold, one of Colonial Natal's famous 'old soldiers'. He married Bru De Wold's only daughter and they died childless. Bru De Wold's only son was killed during the Battle of Delville Wood, and he too was childless. The Borgnis and Bru De Wold lineages in Natal are now extinct.

Does this make Borgnis' group any more appealing to prospective buyers?

A couple of interesting lots there. Are there any more on Kaplan's website? Every time I look at the website it comes up with some ancient auction! Interesting reading but not what I am looking for. I'll have a go at a few of the items, will be expensive due to the falling Aust $ though.

Cheers,

Jim
