QSA (4) Orange Free State, Defence of Mafeking, Transvaal, South Africa 1901 (430 Tpr: D. Fraser. Protect: Regt. F.F.);
1914-15 Star (Lt D. Fraser S.A.F.T. & P.C.);
British War and Victory Medals (Lieut. D. Fraser.).

I can see the roll entries for three of the clasps but not the South Africa 1901. He was discharged from the Protectorate Regiment on 17 October 1900.

I cannot see any further service in any unit.

That is excellent news, Adrian. Well done.

This is what I have on him from the Mafeking book so far:

Impey, Cyril Brinkworth

Born in East London, 13 May 1879. Enlisted in the KaR (Private), 20 February 1896. Served in the Bechuanaland Rebellion, 1896-7 (CGHGSM (1) Bechuanaland). Discharged 21 August 1899. Enlisted in the PRFF 19 August 1899 and posted to D Squadron. Age 20. Nationality: English. Trade: Clerk. NOK: Father, East London. Discharged 16 October 1900. Character very good. Also served GFC (Sergeant) 9 January to 9 April 1901 and Imperial Military Transport (not traced). SA01 from GFC. He married Sophie Catherine Schaefer in Matatiele, 21 August 1915. He worked as a bookkeeper. He died in Cathcart, 12 December 1937, aged 58. Resided in Matatiele. Bookkeeper is crossed through and replaced with commercial clerk. There were no children from the marriage and he was divorced at the time of his death.

Best wishes
David

That is great news Adrian. I must confess to having had a passing glance at Impey - only for sentimental reasons - I recall doing my Basic Training with a fellow with the same surname.

Do you know who did their labels in that fashion?
