Brett,

From my perspective, the prices for QSAs to South African units are getting stronger and starting to reach the high value they deserve.

Either because it was named on a Friday afternoon or because it may have been named later than the other medals to Malmesbury TG, this QSA is named to 43 Pte. R. Uren Marmesbury T.G. His medal was issued 13 April 1910.

Net of 54 medals issued.
WO100/283p191.

That is good news about the prices of South African QSA's. Unlike Australia, and probably other countries, there is no unified pride in this country's military history, and coupled with a relatively small number of active local collectors, there is not a strong local demand for ABW and other such medals. Understandably, international demand is also not strong, hence the recent low prices for these medals.
Regards

Some of the TG QSA's sold in the latest DNW have now shown up on eBay with a nearly 50% increase...….

Barrow boys is certainly the phrase that springs to mind.
