I think the Natal Police were, in effect, cheated when it came to their service throughout 1901 and 1902, in particular those in northern end of the Colony.

Frank

I am indeed rather pressed for funds at present. I already have a couple of NP groups with this combination of medals, so I do not intend adding another unless it was in other respects exceptional. I have not yet checked the Cooke's QSA clasp entitlement, but it should not have both CC and Natal. Natal, OFS and Transvaal is fairly unusual for the NP.

Regards
Brett

Indeed, Cooke subsequently served in Kitchener's Fighting Scouts, where he earned those clasps, it would be interesting to examine this particular medal, one would expect to see an unofficial set of rivets joining the Natal Clasp to the Cape Colony.
