Durban's morning newspaper reported today that the Intombi Cemetery is the latest to be vandalised by people in search of relics. According to a spokesman from the provincial heritage agency, his organisation cannot provide for security at cemeteries and other sites of historical importance. Those of you familiar with the financial affairs of African countries will understand why heritage agencies are under-funded.
