In St Mary's Church.

8157 Lance Corporal Joshua Greenhough, 1st Battalion, King's Royal Rifles. Killed October 20th, 1899, at Talana Hill, Natal.

87147 Driver Albert Brough, 42nd Battery, Royal Field Artillery. Killed May 1st, 1901, at Machadodorp.

5602 Private Thomas Sherrin, 1st Battalion, Derbyshire Regiment. Died August 14th, 1900, at Pretoria.



A DERBYSHIRE WAR MEMORIAL . - A memorial tablet for Wirksworth soldiers was unveiled on Sunday afternoon in Wirksworth Parish Church. The ceremony was performed by Colonel J. M'Cleverty, commanding the 45th Regimental District, and there were also present Colonel Taylor, Captain Symonds, and Lieut. A. Wheatcroft. The brass tablet bore the names of Lance-corporal Joshua Greenhough, Driver Albert Brough, and Private Thomas Sherrin.
