Hello Mike,
Quite a lot on there that I've never seen, when a book is long out of print, the problem is getting hold of a copy.
Nice to see what it is possible to find though, even today 100 years plus down the line!

Good Morning Everyone.....

Hi Frank.....

Yes it is an impressive list some old some new but they are still available here and there especially on ebay and some have been reprinted which is OK unless you only want first editions.......

I went through the list and deleted a number of them that I have in my collection but still have a number that I will want to obtain.....

As for the listing of books I found this one the best.....

R G HACKETT : South African War Books - An Illustrated Bibliography (1994 PP £65)

Hi Mike,
I think the first editions are nicer, because of the binding and covers, it is still possible to find copies in respectable codition for what is now very little money, given there age!

Just thought I would update my thread with my ever increasing library!
Up to now

Elandslaagte by David Biggins
The Boer War 1899-1902 by David Smurthwaite
The Boer War by Thomas Packenham
Ladysmith by Ruari Chisholm
Baden-Powell by Tim Jeal
Battles of the Boer War by W.Baring Pemberton
Commando by Deneys Reitz
Goodbye Dolly Gray by Rayne Kruger
The Great Boer War by Arthur Conan Doyle
The Boer War Concise Campaigns by Eversley Belfield
With the Flag to Pretoria Vol 1 & 2 by Harmsworth Bros

Think it is time to start reading and stop buying!
I am just about to finish The Boer War Concise Campaigns which I have found a very good read.
Think my next one could be the Baden-Powell which I was lucky to find in a charity shop yesterday.

Paul :)
