I was speaking to Phil Mussel of Token Publishing on Sunday and he asked the question which is the most common, non-state clasp on the QSA. That got me thinking.

Excluding CC, OFS, Tr, Natal & Rhodesia, which is it?

Good Morning David, Adrian.....

I'm OK with Tugela Heights but you would also have to include Relief of Ladysmith in that as well.....

My personal feeling is it would possibly be Wittebergen..... Due to the large area covered and that there were a lot more troops "In Country" at the time including Imperial Yeomanry and period of time....

That's interesting. I had never really considered Wittebergen.

I have looked in the Royal Mint records at the National Archives for information on the number of clasps made or issued and can find very little on the QSA clasps.

When I was at the Britannia fair, someone suggested compiling a roll for bronze QSAs and someone else rolls for CC, OFS and Tr. Now there would be a challenge!

Laing's Nek is also quite common. Just about the whole of Buller's Natal army seems to have qualified - many defenders of Ladysmith, many in the relief force and some that joined after Ladysmith.
