The text from Michael Davitt's pro-Boer book on the war. The book has 41 chapters and was written in South Africa by Davitt who resigned his seat in Parliament in protest at the war and travelled to South Africa in 1900 to see the conflict for himself.

WO127 nominal roll images

The images relating to 90 of the South African units in WO127 are now available.

The images are being made available through a licencing agreement with the National Archives.

There are over 3,600 images.

There are three units missing from my pages. These will be added shortly when I have have photographed the books.

The images are of reasonable resolution (and therefore size) so are best viewed over a fast (broadband) link.

Naval QSA roll

There are over 11,500 recipients listed as well as their full QSA clasp entitlement. There are separate pages for the Marines, RIM, NNV and Cape & Transport Staff.

The issue of a duplicate medal(s) has been recorded against the recipient's name as has casualty information. I have included the names of men whose medals were returned for completeness. The notes against the man's name say if the medal was returned.

I haven't added in the details of any extant medals but this would be the logical next step (but not just yet!)
