NICHOLSON, BERTRAM, Lieutenant,
served in South Africa with the Imperial Light Horse, 1902. He was awarded
the Medal, and created a Companion of the Distinguished Service Order
[London Gazette, 31 October 1902]: "Bertram Nicholson, Lieutenant, 2nd
Imperial Light Horse. In recognition of services during the operations in
South Africa". He was Sub-Native Commissioner, Hlatikulu, Swaziland,
1902-7; Assistant Resident Magistrate, 1904-7; Assistant Commissioner, 1907.
